Promises Made, Promises Kept
When I make a promise to the people of Lebanon Borough, I don’t forget it. I keep working until it gets done.
Livestreamed Council Meetings
In 2016, Marlene made a commitment to improve communication, transparency and access to local government by livestreaming Lebanon Borough Council meetings.
She didn’t just put the idea on paper and wait for it to happen. She pursued it. She researched it. She studied it. She kept working toward it.
Year after year, Marlene brought the issue forward. She researched how other municipalities were livestreaming their meetings, studied the technology and logistics, explored what would work best for Lebanon Borough and spoke with residents about the importance of this communication outreach and “family friendly” option for busy residents who wanted the convenience of watching when it accommodated their personal schedules.
Then, in January 2026, Marlene was elected Council President. That leadership role gave her the authority to move the initiative forward, along with the unanimous support of her fellow Council members to make it happen, efficiently with excellent audio-visual equipment at a very low cost of $1,500.
On August 19, 2026, Lebanon Borough livestreamed a Council meeting for the first time.
Today, residents can watch Council meetings live or view them afterward on the Borough website, making it easier to stay informed and participate in local government even when they cannot attend a meeting in person. The Land Use Board is also being added to the livestreaming program.
A commitment made in 2016. Raised year after year. Delivered on August 19, 2026. Promises made. Promises kept.
When a neighbor suggested a candidate debate or Q&A meet-and-greet in a Lebanon Borough community group, Marlene answered publicly:
I think a candidate forum is a GREAT idea. As a current Council member and candidate for another term, I welcome the opportunity to answer questions, talk about the issues and let the voters hear directly from those seeking to represent our Borough.
Especially since our last candidate debate was way back in 2003, it’s definitely time. I’m in!
